CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) – Friday, Arbor Housing unveiled newly renovated townhomes at Lamphear Court in Corning.

The project is part of the redevelopment of the complex, which is partially funding by New York State Homes and Community Renewal and the Southern Tier Regional Economic Development Council.

“We’re excited to open the doors for tenants on this second phase of construction at Lamphear

Court,” said Jeffrey Eaton, CEO at Arbor Housing and Development. “It’s especially important to

have a comfortable place to live during such a difficult time.”

Renovations have been split into three different phases, with Phase A being completed in August; Phase B is currently under abatement with an expected construction completion “in the first quarter of 2021”. Phase C is expected to be completed by the end of 2021.

The townhomes are 82 units made up of 46 one bedroom, 22 two bedroom, 10 three bedroom and 4 four bedroom units. Applications are currently being accepted to fill two 3 bedroom units, one of which is handicap accessible.

All eligible applications that are received by September 7 will be placed in a lottery to be held on October 7; Arbor Housing is currently created a wait list for all other size units.

Tenants will have access to a clubhouse which includes a “great room with kitchenette, computer and laundry rooms”. Lamphear Court also now includes a community garden and playground. There is also on-site parking and is located on a public bus route.
